Reality starts by dreaming. Only what you can imagine can you achieve.
Our vision and goals
Many women have never learned to develop dreams for their own future. They lack role models in their community and thus remain entrenched in existing structures. We want to break through these and promote a change in thinking: We support women and girls in becoming role models and motivating other women to also dream and realize their dreams.
Our goal by 2030 is to make 50,000 women and girls dream.
We contribute to this with all our projects and cooperations.
Empower women and girls
From a global perspective, equality cannot be taken for granted. According to the “Global Gender Gap Report 2023” (World Economic Forum), this will not be the case for another 169 years. To empower women and girls, we create projects where they can learn from and inspire each other in a protected space, among themselves. Here they can practice and lose the fear. In addition, we are planning more and more targeted, direct sponsorships with women from all over the world, which will enable the women, e.g. as a mentor on their way.
Promote education, show perspectives
Education is the basis for a self-determined life. That is why educational projects (literacy, languages, life coaching) are at the forefront of our projects. In our many years of work in the field, however, we have discovered something else: The prospect of being able to put a dream into practice with what we have learned is one of the most important prerequisites for successful learning. The girls and women need a perspective for the future. And so we are developing more and more projects that offer this perspective (e.g. Scholarship for girls, mentor networking, etc.).
Enabling understanding
Our motto is TOGETHER. We firmly believe that we can only solve problems together. That is why we are committed to the exchange between different cultures and create environments and opportunities for discourse at eye level.
We integrate people into our global network who can learn from each other and help each other – regardless of skin colour, gender, religion, age, education or income.
Sustainable development based on the Sustainable Development Goals
According to the United Nations Development Goal No. 5, we have the dream that all women and girls can live self-determined lives.
All our projects and collaborations contribute to a part of the sustainable development goals. But what exactly are the SDGs?
What are the Sustainable Development Goals?
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations (UN) are the blueprint for a better and more sustainable future for all. They address the global challenges we face, such as poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace and justice. There are 17 development goals in total.
When were the SDGs developed?
The 17 Sustainable Development Goals were adopted by the United Nations (UN) in New York in September 2015 as the centerpiece of the “2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development” and signed by all UN member states. The previously published “Millennium Development Goals” and the “Sustainability Agenda” served as a basis.
What are the Sustainable Development Goals the ABURY Foundation supports?
The ABURY Foundation supports the UN Development Goals and focuses its work primarily on Goal #4 “Quality Education” and Goal #5 “Gender Equality”. In addition to these goals, ABURY Foundation’s work also supports Goal #1 “No Poverty,” Goal #8 “Decent Work and Economic Growth,” and Goal #17 “Partnerships to Achieve the Goals.”
What is behind Goal No. 5 "Gender equality"?
Goal #5 pursues achieving gender equality by 2030 and empowering all women and girls. Some sub-goals include 5.1 “End discrimination,” 5.B “Promote women’s empowerment through technology,” or 5.6 “Universal access to reproductive health and rights.”
